This is the first time I've been able to read the stuff on aviationweather.gov (or ADDs) during a hurricane, and there are a few things striking me as odd on the reports.
First, KNBG's TAF is predicting between 12-18Z winds 75G105 - and since they are staffed for the TAF I've got to think it will be more accurate.
But, ADDs is only predicting wind speeds in the max area of 50kts (surface) during the landfall, with quickly dissipating speeds into the 30's post landfall.
So... i'm just wondering.... is it going to be a nasty landfall or is it media sensationalism?
Regardless - here's hoping for the least. Stay safe Skidz....
