Green Dot... the rap.

Was disapointed that Airbii said no to the A322, which was supposed to have newly designed longer wing.

A longer wing would have made it difficult to park the plane at many "traditional" domestic gates. You would have had similar issues to what the 380 faced, where it could only operate on certain taxiways and use limited gates. The 32X needs a better wing, but the long wing solution didn't make sense from a cost/benefit point of view.

The 757's wing is longer I believe by a bit than the A320 series and it still fits in the red bars at the gate. I'm not talking about a WB length wing, but just a bit longer than the current one for performance related issues. But your point does make sense.

"You're unable to do everything in that jet of yours, aren't you, Iberia?" (ironically talking to an A340 of some sort)

Went around in Delhi the other day because we couldn't go slower than ~165 and everyone else seemed to be an empty A320 running on fumes. Point being, those ATC prima donnas will never be happy. "You're too slow, you're too fast, I'm cold, I'm hot" I think maybe they're all in menopause.

And auto flap retract at 210, but for the love of god brief it so I know you didn't space out and are about to overspeed the flaps.
I occasionally forget to brief it, but S being above VFE1+F is usually good enough to remind me in the moment.

It was really strange coming into major terminals for most of 2020 and not being told to do 210 to THNKS, 180 to OBAMA and call the tower now.

I’ll never forget the first day it was absolutely dead and we had like 3 flights an hour.

“Approach, RPA1234 with you 12 for 8 on the Philbo”

“RPA1234 proceed direct grity cross grity at 3 cleared ils 4r contact tower”

“uh, is this for real?”

I’m just happy that when you plan a multiple missile salvo, you only had to do one track to the aimpoint, the missiles sort themselves out vertically and laterally so that they don’t fly the track centerline, instead of doing a separate individual deconflicted tracks for each missile of a strike package. it’s like SLOP for missiles instead of airplanes.

And then Tower, "Turn left any taxiway, to the gate with me, good day."

It made upgrade OE a lot easier that day!
