Happy to report I just received a call, and will be attending the March 14th class at Ameriflight. This website has been such a huge help. And to a few key people that really took time to answer all my questions, and help me any way they could, I say thank you. I would mention your names on here but will leave you anonymous. Throughout this process I really learned just how wonderful the aviation community is.

Another good JCer going to AMF. Doug and Kristie get Christmas cards from AMF yet?

Congrats man.

congratulations!

I just applied. I'm curious if you know if they have a ton of applicants and are very selective? Or do you have a good chance of getting an interview if you meet the requirements and have a solid resume? I meet all requirements but am pretty close to mins. (1300tt 60me) Do you have a feel to whats going on with their hiring?

Thanks, and congrats again!

I'll just say this. The squeeky wheel gets the greese. Persistence pays. ....and any other cliche you can think of. Thats the best way to get "known". Apply, apply, apply, update, update, update, call, call, and call.

I second this. I cannot speak for AMF's procedures for picking applicants. But I stuck to them like flies on you know what. Be persistent.

To answer my own question, and if anyone is curious, I heard from AMF within a week. She asked for my most up to date resume. I quickly complied. She then e-mailed some detailed hiring/company info and asked to schedule a phone interview. Looks like I have a good shot at an interview. I'm pretty stoked!

Congrats.
Boy it sure didn't take long to roll through 2,000+TT applicants, sounds like a good sign of fewer pilots are on the street.

Congrats Inverted and ManleyD!

Thanks for the encouragement guys, although Inverted deserves the real congrats. I'm stoked for the opportunity to interview but am not out of the woods yet. Having no sim time is a bit of a concern having heard some horror stories. Planning on giving 100% and hoping for the best. The AMF site recommends getting some sim time before the interview. Not really an option for me.

Inverted, how was your sim ride? Which sim did they put you in?
