Gotta big flight tonight...

My family is coming in from Spain and I am going to be flying them out of PHL. My leg :D

I've only flown them on little airplanes before. My son is a critic too, last time I flew him in a diamond, the bottom vasi bar turned a shade of pink and he is telling me, "glideslope dad!!!"

I am excited... Anyone else had this experience??

That's awesome Shawn. How long are you going to get to see them for?

I've managed to fly both my parents (separately) and my girlfriend on the RJ to various places. My mom knit me a doily while I was flying her from BNA to CLT. The two FAs didn't let me here the end of it.

Enjoy the time with them. Hopefully scheduling leaves you alone.

EDIT: Cooke better let you fly it.

Well, I am thinking they will be over for the summer:D I am now holding a line so, at least we know what we have to work with...

Past the summer, who knows??? I guess we need to do something though:(
Edit: He really cool about it. He's even let me take all the night landings to practice.
LOL about the doily...

Whew... Didn't choke and prang it in. Of course it was an ILS breaking out at 800 ft with the wind straight down the runway at 10 kts for a greaser. It was a fun experience.:D

All of my kids and my wife have all flown with me. It was kind of a family tradition started with my dad that when we turned about 10 weeks old we sat on moms lap and went for a ride in the family J-3. To this day I still have done the same. It's a lot of fun and it's amazing how that little old A-65 will put them right to sleep!

Have FUN!

Awesome! I've flown my girlfriend (now fiance) down to DAB when she came with me on a long overnight. Captain let me fly both legs. Greased it on in a pretty good crosswind in DAB. So feeling quite proud of that I asked her how she liked the flight. She said the landing wasn't the greatest because it was on one wheel. It took some explainin ;-)

They're like polylingual in AMS so I have no idea!

We're a little far behind here in the states as you know.

Yeah, I lived 6 years in Germany and if you just assumed they spoke English there they'd pretend they didn't.

In AMS they have a policy of "look, you know we speak English...so just go ahead and do it. We know it makes us look smart"

Then there's the whole having a separate glass for each kind of beer the serve. That's just all kinds of awesome.

That's a very good description!

That's why it's always good to know to "yes/no/I would like/how much is/where is.../what time is.../where can I find..." in the native tongue of wherever you are because it will open up your world.

If you presume you're not going to have training wheels and no one is going to understand English, you'll have a great experience guaranteed.

And uhh, the refill on the soft drink and the ranch dressing thing... :)
