Came home from a trip and a thick envelope was leaning against my apartment door. Return address was DHS-CPB. I thought they were supposed to call a week ago!, so I had written it off. Figured I didnt make the cut. Anyways, looks like(pending the background check and staffing needs) Ill be flying a c206/210, citation, king air or a chopper along our borders. Customs air interdiction agent. Pretty awesome. I interviewed March 5, and had about 3200TT and 2000 or so Multi. Most of that being in the EMB145. Lots of vacancies on USA jobs so if you are interested check it out. Im psyched! Probably time to move again anyhow....

I looked into that but I doubt a 1200 hr pilot like myself can even compete with most of whom is applying for those jobs.

Congrats though!

That's friggin' awesome! Saw the cryptic news on FB... and didn't know what it was about. Thanks for explaining it.

It really sounds like an cool opportunity. Congratulations!! :)

Congratulations!!! Just curious, and not trying to rain on your parade, but aren't you the one that was all about flying bigger airplanes for your airline? Maybe I'm mixed up...enjoy the 206/210. Pay is great but I do not think I could do 1-2 years SIC in it in Florida. PIC, I'd be all over it. Single pilot. Not listening to a crusty old fart saying how he hates the heat and the BS.

I really and truly wish you the best of luck. All of you guys/gals hired let us know how it goes...

...or a UAV out of GFK:) Now we wait 6-12 months for the BI to clear and an EOD. We'll see how it goes!

Nah, you all got me messed up with someone else. I dont post on here too often..more of a lurker. To be honest I really value the combination of good pay and solid career outlook the most. I think its a gs11 which is in the 60's. Id get essentially a 100% payraise. Yeah, rumour is itll take a while to pass the BI.

Congrats! That's great to hear. I have applied last round and this one with a score of 93...but nothing. Love to hear updates on how it goes.
Good luck

Nick

Good work. I'm going to recommend you for UAVs at FHU; there's lots of openings there. You can thank me later!

I went over the black tower a bunch today . . . pretty good fire 8 miles to the north west of FHU . . . 7 drops for T17, we had two SEATs a heavy crane and T25 all working with a lead and Air attack.

Congrats on the gig! It does sound like a great job . . . I was going to suggest you hit up MD, but once again I'm working too much to keep up!
