good private pilot ground school kit

I fly at a 141 Cessna Pilot Center that requires students to buy the King Schools private kit. Biggest crock of BS I've seen.

Kit costs $370.

I use one item in it. The textbook. Sure, it comes with about 50 CD-roms with videos you can play on your computer, but all of the information is in the textbook, so why bother?

Only beneficial thing I can come up with are the computer based quizzes you take before every lesson. Your results are then transferred to the flight school and you go over the questions you missed with your instructor. So you end up knowing the material before every lesson, which I suppose is the point...

I'm still calling BS on kits in general, though. I never would have bought one had it not been required at WNCA.
