Good Ole boredom

This may seem like an odd question, but what is there for me to do during my lessons? My instructor's reply was..."uhhh...i don't know what to do" Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm a little tired of practice landings, stalls, turns, vfr nav, ect... I have done a few non presicion approaches, and have hood time, but I don't really want to jump into the instrument "goolosh" until after I solo. So does anyone know of any cool places to fly to in the northeast area on one of these upcoming "warm" spring days?

Thanks

Find a nice little grass strip and start learning soft/short field techniques on a place that really requires it. I get the biggest rush everytime I put it down in the grass!

That and flying into weird airports. The most fun I have had so far (well, tied with unusual attitudes and night flight into class B) is going into little private grass strips. The approaches can be wild. The best one I have done so far (I think I wrote about it in another post) involves flying the approach over a little village, watching out for the church steeple, following a driveway at about 200agl and then making a 75* right hand turn across a stream and fence and onto the strip. Great fun. Besides, those two months will go by really quickly and will be soloing before you know it.

When I was 15 I went to a glider training camp in New Mexico and got the chance to fly 10-12 times solo. Perhaps there's a glider operation near you?

Tim, pick me up, and let's go to Martha's Vineyard!

(It's a joke, no PPL yet I know)

Hey, I'll pick you up on August then, lol. We'll head from Danbury out to KMVY.

Been to MVY twice... both times had to get out under IFR... so

[Big Brother Voice] Be Careful! [\ Big Brother Voice]

Fun flight though!

Find a helicopter and take an intro ride! Maybe you could solo both on the same day (it IS a blast, after all...you might even get hooked).

I'd like to, but the problem is the $180-$300/hr rental fee up here

Yeah it does...but we were just joking around. I still remember that day for some reason.

Yeah, me too. He never should have left that late in that haze, and then tried to take a short cut over water on top of it.
