In '73 I received an Recce F-4 out of UPT. After about 6 or so flts with an IP I was crewed with a student WSO that came from tankers and we were sent on our way flying unsupervised single ship low level sorties.

It never fails when we bring a U-2 to an airshow: someone will ask "is this the same airplane that was shot down over Russia?"

Without pausing, and very deadpan, you answer "no ma'am,... that plane is still in Moscow."

When I do T-38 airshows, I often get asked "how did you get this here?"
I'm to the point now where it annoys me, and I reply "Are you serious? How would you guess I got it here?"
