Go to first unread post function

What does it; clicking on the thread title, or clicking the little blue button to the left of it? I can't seem to figure what does what.
 
Last post or the last unread? I use that to go to the last unread, myself.
 
Yep. Clicking on thread title takes me to last POST in the thread. Little blue button takes me to first unread. Using latest version of Firefox.
 
Default. Same thing happens when clicking a thread title from the forum home. Takes me to the last post. Have to scroll up to figure out what I haven't read yet.
 
Anyone else experiencing this? Now it's started doing it on my iPad 2 (which I just got a few days ago). For instance, last night, I decided to dive into the Trayvon Martin thread, which I had previously not read at all. I clicked on the thread title from the home page (not from the lav itself), and it took me to the very last post of the thread. Again, I had never opened the thread up to that point, so it SHOULD have taken me to the very first post.

Same thing on my iPad 2 using the Safari browser. It didn't happen on my OG iPad.
