Anyone else see that DC-3 (I think) coming into ATL around 5:00 PM last night?

Never saw stuff like that in Cleveland.

Later.

I usually see them on my way from home (Decatur) to work (Morrow). I take 285 SW to 75 S.

Usually see the most at them at the 285 & 75 intersection.

There are much better places I know up on 285 by closer to the airport.

The best place actually is the hotel right on the runways. Very nice (pretty cheap too...under $100)

Actually had this conversation about 7 years ago.

Delta had just bought the DC-3 for refurbishing and it was parked at the maintenance hangar. We were taxiing out and I pointed to the DC-3 and said: "Wouldn't it be fun to park this and take that out instead?' My FO looked at the DC-3 paused and said: "Yeah I suppose so. What is that anyway?" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If it was Delta's DC-3 that is one fine looking plane. They sometimes park in the Delta North Hanger and with the lights shining down on it...I was going to take pics of it a few weeks ago and they had already left for a show.

There also is a company based out of 6A2 that has a fleet of -3's that they fly cargo with.

No. I said "you're kidding right?" then he looked kind of hurt. So I told him about how in the olden days the airplanes had round engines that had pistons instead of turbines and men were men and all that. He wasn't very interested.

And if the engine wasn't oozing oil, it was probably broken.
