Dr. Forred,

What issues if any can I expect renewing my 1st Class medical after being out on Workers Comp disability for nearly 3 years? I have had 3 surgeries (ACL replacement, rotator cuff/slap repair, and 3 level ACDF surgery). The biggest delay was due to the WC insurance company delaying treatment for as long as possible.(They delayed treatment from March 2013 until August 2014).
My most recent medical was a 1st Class issued on 12/21/2011

As long as you have documentation from your orthopedic surgeon that you have a normal range of motion and strength, the AME should issue the medical. You just need a letter from the oath.
