Well my first stint in the great sand-land is soon to be over!! And I'm all set to fly out of here to Ramstein. So my question is. What is there to do in Germany, for a single guy who has been in the desert for 5+ months? Anyone recommend any good places? Bars, clubs, houses of.....ill repute?

Ask the locals. As an old 1SG once told me- as long as you can ask for food, shelter, and alcohol in the local language you'll be just fine.

Were I somehow in that hemisphere, I'd raise a glass with ya. Glad to know your stint in Hell will soon be over. Cheers. :beer:

If you end up in Ramstein, you'll be near Kaiserslautern or K town. Just take a cab and go downtown you'll find plenty of places to enjoy fine German beers. The people are frendly and the women beautiful. After being in the desert for a while, K town is the best R&R.

Its really a cool place to be in mate. Enjoy your stay. Just learn a few basic German words, people do speak english but you can make friends easily if you speak or even try to speak german. Pubs are in plenty, no need to ask for a route for this in germany Have a great time
