Georgia Jet

Ive never heard of them but Im not much of a know it all when it comes to corporate ops.

I have not. However, there are a lot of small operations that get drowned out by the larger 135 operators.

A lot of folks use to run to them for a job between CFIing and then going to a regional. This was circa 2005 or so.

Haven't heard anything positive in recent years though. YMMV.

Thanks for the info...
I was contemplating using them (or someone) to bypass regionals and get turbine time.

I got my ATP (121) written complete. Planning going 121 route. What if I went 135? Do I need another written?
Would I need a checkride within 2 years or have to take the FAA course?
I'm more likely leaning to 121 and regional BS, but considering all options.

No you don't have to retake the written. The 121 version is the most common these days I believe anyways.

Has anyone heard of them?

I spoke with someone recently who indicated they might be hiring. I can't find any info on the good/bad/ugly.

Last I heard (a couple months ago) they were hiring. Their charter fleet consists of 2 Hawker 800s, 6 BeechJets, and a King Air 200. They also do air ambulance trips in a C90 and 2 Lear 35s. The Lears are salary positions with a 14 on 7 off schedule. The FO positions on the Lear are usually filled by folks already in the company. Last I heard thy were looking for FOs on the BE40 with ~2000 TT but I don't have any more recent info. Any particular questions feel free to PM me.

OK thanks -
So, I wouldn't need another written. however is the clock ticking on 24 months to get it done? I know if I go to a regional within a few months, it's no big deal as far as time goes - they'll do the ATP check ride during training. But I don't know if this place or other 135 operators do that during training or just get you checked out in the right seat and do the upgrade later ?

So if the Lears are salary, the Hawker is not? That's the one they pay $150/day? They guy I talked to told me 10 on 5 off schedule for the Hawker at least. He told me with my times I'd be eligible for FO slot on the Hawker.
We didn't get into upgrade times, etc..

Yes, I know several people who used to work there. Most are junior FO's at XJT for what it's worth.

There IS a good paying 135 company in PDK that is hiring from what I heard recently. I can't remember the name but had a friend interview and unfortunately he didn't get the job.

That IS very low. I made A LOT more as a part-time B200 copilot. If you get paid $150/day and you are an independent contractor, the taxes take a lot of that away.
