GE J60 startup on a USAF T-39

J60 straight turbojet. What goes in the front, goes out the back. None of this pansy-ass turbofan with bypass crap. And Stage III be damned......this is Stage I; nothing quiet about it.

When I checked into Pcola at the start of flight school, I loved to see these guys flying around, along with their T-2 turbojet brothers. Would have loved to have a chance to fly either of them.
 
Is it true that the Sabreliner and the actual F-86 Sabre are somewhat the same aircraft?
