Garmin G1000 GFC 700

Does anybody know of a free simulator download for the g1000? i thought i had one somewhere, but i guess i don't. i have two students flying the g1000 now and a simulator download i think would help them with all the different buttons and menu screens and such.

The Garmin G1000 PC trainer is what you're after. It's not free, but at $25, it's cheap enough and well worth it. There are versions specific to every aircraft type the G1000 is installed in here:

i wouldn't say that that simulator is well worth it. It's clunky, has memory leak and is sometimes too much for some folks computer to handle (whether it be screen size or processor speed)

It's well worth it if you have the computer equipment for it. Transitioning to a glass panel is all about getting comfortable with the logic of the systems and the sequence to get the information you need and setups you require.

Compare 3-5 hours of transition training (which seems to be some sort of average I hear tossed around for VFR), add another 3-5 for IFR and compare that to the cost of $25. Heck, if you want, add in the cost of a whole new computer to run it.
