Garmin 196 or 295

I am currently in the market shopping for a GPS. I found both units factory refurbished for $700. The only problem is I am having a hard time choosing one. I like the color screen but am concerned about short battery life but I also like the large screen of the 196. Can anyone here give me some info about your experience with the units and which you would recommend?

I use the 295. I've also had a chance to use the 196 (borrowed from a fellow CFI). Both are excellent but if you can get them for the same price, I would suggest the 295. Color is a plus and to be honest, the battery life isn't bad. However I have had occasions when it tells me I've one third of the battery power left and then within a few minutes it starts beeping "low Batt" and promptly shuts off!! Not good. Of course not a problem as long as you know where you are. It does come with a power cord which can be connected to a cig lighter in most planes.
