G280 Pre-Study Materials

Hiya everyone,

I just found out that I'll be going to do training on the G280, but apparently haven't been scheduled officially for school yet and was wondering if anyone has or knows where to get some G280 study materials like limitations, flows, or other things like QRH etc. :ooh:

I'd like to try and get a head start on training prior to actually going, and considering how things run here where I'm at, it could be a last minute "hey, you're scheduled to be there in two days, good luck" etc..

Anyone able to shoot me in the right direction?

Study this because that is how it flies.

My favorite G280 story:

"Since introducing the Gulfstream G250 in 2008 and presenting it to customers around the world, we determined that G280 is a more amenable number sequence in certain cultures," Larry Flynn, Gulfstream senior vice-president marketing and sales, said.

While Gulfstream will not be drawn in which particular Asian culture this nomenclature is deemed offensive, a Chinese expert tells Flightglobal the number 250 can be translated into Mandarin as "stupid" or "idiotic".

Hiya Cessnaflyer,

Thanks for the piggy lol,

Minuteman, it's true: in Chinese that's pretty much what it translates to, or something along the lines of "dumbass." It'd be pretty funny to see the tail with a giant 250/ 二百五/贰佰伍 written on it over here. :smoke:

@TrustMeI'maPilot thanks for the lead, I went ahead and sent a message to C150J

If anyone else can help me out with some sort of AFM/QRH or limitations to study that'd be zooopa;)

"Tanks in advance"

A 200 or 280? There have been no trade-ins/sales of used 280s.

I wouldn't call 16 minutes from SL to FL450 fully loaded (ISA) "porky:).
They said it was a 280. They sold it for a Lear 60 and a Beechjet for their short stuff.

Might have been some miscommunication on their part as to what aircraft they swapped for the Lear 60.

Well they sold the G280 and bought the Lear 60 and Beechjet, so I'm not sure where the misunderstanding came from. They said they much rather fly the Lear because of the extra power compared to the G.

If you'd PM me the name of the operator, I'd love to speak with them.

I'm not doubting you whatsoever. Just very unclear on whether they sold a position or had actually flown it/were typed in it (I can tell you the "typed" part is impossible ).

We demo'd a G280 and, despite it's uninspiring ramp appeal, it is a truly fantastic airplane. From what I understand, it has an incredibly efficient, scaled-down 550 wing. The HTF7250 has been proven in the CL300 (obviously slight software differences in 7000 vs. 7250G) and the airplane is far from a pig. I'm betting @C150J could tell us, but if Gulfstream is trying to keep the 280 similar to the bigger G's, they would continue with the no memory item philosophy.
