Furlough Coming

Well, after the ACE/NJC trip it appears the wife agrees that a furlough is needed. It was decided the Friday after returning with initial paperwork reviewed by legal and submitted, and while in steps most likely will be completed at the end of the year...

I thought the OP owned his own business and his own personal SR22...so...huh?

If I understand what the OP was trying to say is, that the furlough is from his wife not his job. Really hope I'm wrong though.

I'm a bit lost with this post but if it involves furloughs, it can't be good. Sorry to hear. Hope things get better for you.

you're talking about your contract work in which they were probably going to furlough you anyways aren't you?

That's what I'm guessing also and I too hope that we're wrong. My heart goes out to you if it's what we think it is. Even if we're wrong it still doesn't sound good, real sorry to hear you got bad news going on.:(

Ya know, life has interesting ways of ebbing and flowing. Many things perceived at the time to be bad, actually enable future possibilities.

OK, first.... I need to stop drinking during the day...

Let me try this again.

After the ACE/NJC trip my wife agrees that I have been too depressed the past few years doing what I have been doing that I need to get out of it. She said she hadn't seen me smile like I did in Vegas in years when with my friends there and talking aviation. She I have decided to get out of Engineering (or at least what I currently do in Engineering). I am disappointed in that, but even my financial guy says I'm young enough to recover my losses.

I got with my lawyers on Thursday upon return and confirmed what I needed to do, the first being terminating my major client contract (whole other story being it is currently denied by client). That was submitted on Friday. There is multiple steps in doing it, as it appears to be easier to shut down a company then it is to start one. It's not an overnight thing, and hopefully will be completed before the end of the year.

DAMM pilots, wife saw me happy being around you all...now has given me permission to see about changing careers.

(iphone pics didn't help)... she is just pissed she wasnt feeling good enough for the main party...she had a GREAT time and can't wait for next year! She knows I have a nickname at most of my employers as the cruise director, always making sure everyone else has too good of a time. (Martin/Bill know what I mean)

I do have my own business, that is the biggest problem. Medical, etc. have to be figured out, and not to go into too much depth (lawyers) if/when my company dissolves I get to go on unemployment (again). Wife doesn't get medical so that will be the biggest thing. When does OBAMACARE go into effect?

I have been married 22+ years to a GREAT gal. 6+ years ago she took the chance for me to start my own business. Now she is willing to let me close it....

Time for another drink...to CELEBRATE!!

Sorry for confusion...

Not to be a bugger on the parade here....

but would closing an income stream before having the requisite certificates to open up a new one necessarily be the best course of action?

Best of luck, of course, but aviation is a fickle mistress, and having income external to that is just, sweet.

Whew....

I like that explanation much better!

 to starting anew! I'm sure you will be successful no matter what endeavors you pursue.
