FSX Add On

Is it a pretty easy process to get these planes to work once you've downloaded them? I think this is awesome but a couple years ago tried to and had a very hard time...???

Well, even going back to FS98...the process isn't necessarily "easy," but would require some copy and pasting from the usually enclosed .zip file to the Aircraft sub-folder within Flight Simulator.

My favorite mod was a F-15 reskinned to the Goodyear blimp. Made for some really funny high speed fly by's.

Simviation.com was where I'd get all of mine years ago. Don't even know if that site is still around.

Carenado usually has a lot of good GA aircraft. The precision manuals link up there has the 737 NGX, MD-11 and Jetstream 41 that are all really good planes. The only thing is that they're kind of pricey.. If you're interested, RealAir simulations has a Duke Turbine that is pretty awesome to fly, and it has a really great flight model.

They are pricey because they are 99% accurate of the real airplane. Almost all commercial software developers have auto installs so you don't have to do anything but point and click. Freeware airplanes are almost all copy paste but it is stupid easy.

Indeed, the PMDG airplanes are (from what I hear) extremely accurate of the real things. I've gotten to the point that I don't fly any of the default aircraft anymore!

Flight1/Dreamfleet did a C310 that was pretty good. But that was quite a while ago, and probably only for FS9. They actually got that roll oscillation modeled in the flight dynamics somehow. I haven't used the MilViz one, but it looks pretty nice. They also made a 421C a while back that you might be interested in. Carenado is making the best GA stuff now, and just released a C340 a few weeks ago.

+1 for precisionmanuals.com. Some of my other favorite payware stuff is from Wings of Power (http://www.a2asimulations.com/wingsofpower/) for some over the top excellent warbird stuff. With this AccuSim stuff, you need to know/learn how to start a P51 to get the thing in the air. (No Ctrl+E)

For free stuff, flightsim.com or avsim.com are probably your best bets. (Look for the SIU 172 texture I made when I was like 12 on both of those sites)

But this is where it is really at - www.condorsoaring.com - :)

Yup, I / DreamFleet did a 310L for FS9. Nice bird too. I got my MEL in a 310Q, and this was close enough to it.

Great product Lou! I flew the crap out of that, the Archer, and the A36/B58 back in my flightsim nerd prime for sure as well. I keep meaning to try to get back into it, and still kinda follow what is going on and all of the new products, but for the last few years, the real airplanes are starting to keep me away from the sims!
