FSA Tour

On May 7th my wife and I toured FSA in Vero.

I was overall impressed. We showed up at lunch time, unannounced, to see if we could get a tour. Within 5 minuets we were givin guest badges and on our way with a tour guide.

Throughout the tour, the guide showed us everything from the classrooms to the flight line. Everything was explained in great detail, all questions were answered with great detail and if you are a veteran, Mary Wood will explain all your VA benefits in greater detail. Very helpful people.

For the last portion of the tour we took a discovery flight. It was simply awsome. I sat in the left seat and actually flew the plane a little bit (with the instructors help).

I was afforded the opportunity to catch up with a fellow jc'er while we were down there. He took personal time out of his day to give my wife and I a tour of Vero Beach. Great guy, hope to meet up again.

Over all, I know this is kind of a vague post but everything was excellent. If you are thinking about attending a flight academy definately put FSA on your list to tour.

Bushmaster,
Glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and the flight. I am sure you are excited to get started. Keep me informed on your plans. Good luck...ILS

I'm also looking forward to my tour of FSA - I was very impressed with my telephone call to the school - What stood out to me was the professionalism and candid no nonsense approach to giving information without using cheesy sales lines. I will be looking at others schools as well, but the overall impression at this point is all positive. I am assuming because they are a part of a major flight training company that they know what they are doing and have great resources in the industry. Let’s see how it goes

While on my FSA tour, the staff encouraged me to go look at other academies, with confidence that FSA was the best!

It's a good thing when a flight academy can tell their potential business (You), to look at their competitors offers and maintain the level of confidence that FSA is the most outstanding program out there. This is when you know you are getting somwhere in school selection. Do you think PanAm / DCA is going to tell you to look at FSA? Not a chance!

When I did my tours the people asked what other schools I was going to see while down there, they all had bad things to say about each other. Comair was badmouthing PanAm, PanAm badmouthing ATP and Comair, ATP bashed Comair and PanAm, etc... Not one of them said anything bad about the FSI program....and FSA did not join the bashing either. They let their program and facilities speak for themselves. That should tell you something.

I did a tour there at the end of May.
I was very impressed with the place, and the people for the most part were very nice and helpful. Came across a few people in marketing that seemed to just "be sitting on the job, not wanting to be there" as a result they were not helpful. But all in all very nice place. Could make the decision difficult down the road where I want to do the CFI, either at FSA or somewhere else.

>saw people in marketing sitting on the job, not wanting to be there

Ah yes, probably because they'd rather be flying, assuming they were in uniform, otherwise I dunno *shrugs*
