Frontier Airlines

For those that have flown Frontier: Good, bad, otherwise to NJC?

checking ticket prices from minny and NWA has gone up drastically especially for the 'good' flight times.

NWA is non-stop and Frontier is going through Denver. Comparable times have a difference of almost $200. That's some good casino coin.....

I seem to recall Frontier being in the news recently but it was for reorg if my memory serves me.

I flew Frontier last year to NJC and frequently deadhead on them, have yet to have any bad experiences, I would recommend them for sure.

They did file Chap. 11 recently but like you said it was more for reorganizing than anything else (hopefully).

Flying through DIA is pretty painless, no concourse changes with that connection and lots of moving walkways to play on.

Wait...you deadhead on them? Did you move on?

JEP - Frontier is a great airline with great employees. I always enjoy riding on them and would choose them any day over anyone else for domestic hops. While they are in Ch. 11, they are still providing good service and working hard to keep the airline going.

Frontier also has satelite TVs like jetblue. But its like 5 bucks. When i jumpseat on them, they have been pretty cool.

I second that. Best airline to fly on. The TV viewing was raised to $5.99. If I didn't have reading to do in flight I would pay it just to try and help them out a little.

F9 rocks! The people that work there are definitely what makes the difference. When I was working as a bag monkey for Lakes, we had a code share agreement with them and I flew for free. I definitely took an advantage of this to visit my girlfriend (who later became my wife) who lived in LA. Love the direct TV and the FA's are all really nice folks who actually make the trip enjoyable.

i've flown frontier several times between slc-dtw. always great service, nice people. They have a whole wing in denver, so connecting between flights is usually as easy as walking across the hall.

They may not be in business by NJC. I'd make alternate plans.

That is my main concern...I'd hate to save $200 only to have to find a new flight in October....

Could take Sun Country but only one flight a day there and back.

NWA - good number of flights but the 'good' flight times are quite a bit more (which makes sense).

AA - good number of flights through ORD or DFW. Went thru DFW a couple of years ago and no problems.

I hope it doesn't come to that. I'd hate to see them go under.

They are a good airline. My husband jumpseats on them all the time for his commute to MKE and use to take them to Midway when he worked out of ORD. He really likes them.

I wouldn't worry about them going under. They recently filed for Chapter 11 because their credit company was withholding funds. It later turned out to be an error on the part of the Credit Company. I know a lot of Frontier pilots, who tell me that the filing was more of a precautionary measure. They are doing fine.:)

Precautionary measure? Sure. I've got some Arizona beachfront for you.

That's why they asked the pilots for a 15% pay cut...and got it.

If Frontier makes it past October, I'll eat my hat.

And as far as Sun Country goes, they may be added to the failed list REAL soon

There's always the big "D" through SLC.;)

yea, I don't know if I could get there from MSP though. I really don't want to head east then back west. delta was way out of range of the others.....:panic:

I stand corrected.....$455 thru slc. good travel times as well.

somwhere I read that they pay cut is only for a few months. Not sure if its true though. I also think they will make it past Oct.

F9 is a great ride. Better then the average Bear....With that being said, i wouldnt book tickets farther then 15 days out with them, very risky of going TU.
