For @WacoFan

They fly out KANE in Minneapolis. I loved seeing those things blast off while I was flight instructing.

Doesn't this guy also have a beautiful Albatross?

Two of them. His other Howard and one of his Albarosses share the same paint job. He also has a caravan on floats, husky on floats, CJ2, and Citation X in the same hanger. Much aviation envy was present when his hanger doors were open.

Thats what I thought. They usually bring both the green Howard and the blue Albatross to Oshkosh. The best part, they park them away from the main show - down by the ultralights. I got to climb through the Albatross one year, really cool group of people.

The hanger walls are huge murals of air to air shots of all his planes too. The annual fly in usually sets up right in front of his hanger. I want to say he has one of the two B-25s on the field as well. For a medium size Class D county airport, there is some serious iron on the field.

That sleepy airport has all that awesomeness hiding within it hangars!?!? I've been there three or four times for work and never even saw a hint. In fact it's where I took this pic of my work ride. I would've much rather found a Howard 500 to shoot.

And speaking of @WacoFan can some one please petition him to come back? I don't have his email.

There are certainly some gems on the field there. Unfortunately the flight school I taught at wasn't one of them! His hanger is a beam the approach end of 36 on the west side, just south of the Cirrus FBO. The B-25s are housed in the big hanger just north of Cirrus. There are also four albatrosses on the field scattered across the field, including the one that Key Air is holding hostage. They did a big photo shoot a couple summers ago and all took off as a single flight. That was something to see! There's an active T-6 club that does a lot of practice formation flying and a guy who just got a new L-39 too. It was a fun field to flight instruct at!

My dream is to start a Dallas office of Alex's operation flying Lodestar's and Beech 18's for lighter loads.

Alex et al bought a JetStar, which makes a LodeStar look positively rational by comparison. Your dream may be closer than you think. Personally I'm hoping for a TriStar.
