Flying over ATL at night

Yesterday took the 310 down to Troy, AL for a basketball game...on our way back, Atlanta Approach was kind enough to give us over the top (instead of going to SINCA and then north to Habersham).

I was able to get a few nice shots while passing overhead...it was a beautiful night to be out flying!

Is it true that if you're in an unpressurized aircraft, you can smell the hot grease from Popeyes in the B-Terminal when you're flying overhead?

There was something funky smelling in that area...and this whole time I thought it was my uncle and the officials in the back...

Now it all makes sense...

:tmyk:

It was for a Women's Basketball game...I think they played Army. My aunt and uncle both officiate women's college bball, I fly them in the 310 going to games.

We wanted to do this but both ways from FL they routed us to AHN then back on course.

Cold as all hell too! Was your Janitrol Fire Tube working well? :D

Yea it was, the 310's got a better heater than a Seminole (meaning, you can actually control the heat...not just the 2 settings: Hot and Hotter than Hell).

The 310 was loving the cold air though, I can't recall the last time I've seen her want to cruise in the yellow arc at normal power settings for 7,000ft (roughly 23 inches and 2350 RPM).

Gotta love being able to have an almost 1800lbs useful load in a small twin... :D
