Flying opportunities in the Gulf?

I haven't done much research on the opportunities to use ones flying in assisting with the oil spill, but I figured I'd bring up the topic for others looking for work. If it was in the best interest of the environment, I wouldn't mind volunteering my services. Anyways, just something for those looking for work to think about...get out there and start looking...and.... good luck :)

Before the season ended (aerial survey) there was talk of some imaging over the area. I have no clue what became of it though.

Dynamic Aviation hired quite a few temporary pilots to do dispersant dropping down there. Word was through August/September.

I know a few guys that are very busy doing FL gulf coast survey work. Panhandle to Keys. My guess is BP documenting how busy the resorts and beaches are before the damage sets in and the lawsuits start flying. Although that's only a guess. The pilots don't seem to know exactly who their working for, which is strange. Unfortunately I was unable to get in on the action.

CMILL works for a company that flies float planes out of LA. He has posted his experiences since the oil spill a couple times. He may chime in here later. If I remember correctly his company tried to get some flying lined up and the idea was shot down by BP. I am in the panhandle of Florida and I haven't heard of any new flying opportunities (not counting CFI'ing and banner towing) coming this way.

I met some pilots when I was in BFM (Mobile, AL) Saturday doing just that. They were flying an Aztec equipped to survey the area with a specially built camera to highlight the oil areas. He was happy to find this job since his unemployment was running out but is now worried that it will dry up as well since it was capped. He said they all were employed by BP.
