Flying into Space Coast Regional to see Shuttle

Anyone ever do this? Next shuttle launch should be a night one on August 25th. If I avoid the TFR times - could I fly into Space Coast Regional and watch the launch there? Ideally I'd like to take a cooler and some lawn chairs and sit outside with the plane. Does this seem feasible? Do they permit camping? (i.e. - can I pitch a tent under the wing or on the grass?)

Just curious - want to see one before they stop 'em.

Just fly in before the TFR, the guys that patrol the TFR are based there :) Talk to the guys at the FBO, there is a spot a short walk away that has good view.

Not sure about the other stuff but when I was at FIT (KMLB) once that TFR is up there is NO WAY they are going to let you in there. We were lucky because half of the airport was still open when the TFR hit. Good luck!

It's been a while since I've been to Titusville/Space Coast Regional...you'll be close enough to see the launch, hell we could see them when I lived in Orlando just fine. If you're looking to stay the night, might want to try flying into Authur Dunn Air Park (X21), it's a nice/quiet little airport, I'm sure you can pitch a tent under the wing of your airplane there...I'm not sure TIX.

For the view though, TIX should have a much better view...and I seem to recall a small hill at the entrance where you could put a chair up and watch.
