As some of you know, I'm going on my Discovery Flight tomorrow. (It's storming right now, so let's pray for the rain to come to a hault!)
I'm exteremely excited!
The point of this thread is to ask you all if there are any specific questions I should ask. Anything I should do while I'm there?

Supposed to be sunny and around 75 ish here in Spokane, but that doesn't help you. After living in Tulsa, I must say that weather is totally unpredictable in the Midwest.

Yeah dude, it's supposed to rain before 1pm, and my flight is at 4pm.

You're at SGF right? Doesn't look too bad

Probably not I'd guess. At 6PM local time for you it calls for winds 360@12. The conditions in your area should improve as the day goes on.

I know that you are probably already up in the air by now but just for the point of saying. Its sunny and beautifull today in the state of missouri. So you shouldent have any problem Have fun! Take pics!

I'm not. I'm not lunch break from work. I will be flying at 4pm. And no, it's not sunny and beautiful. It's been raining all morning here; it's pretty muggy and lowdy right now. It's definitely improving, though.

Oh whoops! my bad. I just looked at your conditions and you are cloudy. The radar doesent show any rain. I looked at your forecast and by 4 it looks like it is soposed to be partly cloudy. With no rain

I always let the student take off on the discovery flight. That really got them excited. I'd taxi into position and tell them to push the power all the way up, at Vr I'd say 'gently pull back on the yoke' (with my hands ready in case his gently and my gently didn't mean the same thing.)

That really got them fired up. Almost every time they were like 'Oh my god, my first flight and I'm already taking off!'

Well, on my way I got lost due to the new SGF terminal. So I was like 15 minutes late. I also went the wrong way on like 5 roads; it's very poorly thought out. Then my shifter knob broke, so I couldn't get my car out of Drive or into Park or Reverse.

But I finally got there. It was very, VERY lame. Not worth my $75 AT ALL. It was probably the worst first flight I could ever take. He flew through the check list, but did manage to let me steer down the runway using the foot pedal things. :P See, I don't even know what they are called! He didn't explain anything, and when he did, he flew through it. I flew the plane with the 'foot pedal things' and the 'yolk' for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then he took over, and that was it.

It was supposed to be a half an hour, but it ended up being about 20 minutes, and that's stretchin' it!

So yeah, I'm basically blocking this one out of my mind, and going to the downtown Springfield runway and startin all over. Gosh, I'm pissed.

On the bright side, I got some sweet pictures! As well as saw a DC-9 (I believe) fly over us and land. :)
I'm going to post pictures in a little bit.
