Flight Options...

Ran into a guy at the airport today that asked for my resume to fill an FO position on a Legacy. I've done a few searches and can't seem to find a heck of a lot of opinions other than their CA pay sucks. The FO pay is way better than first year regional or most 135 freight gigs though, and 8 on 7 off doesn't sound so bad.

Do you guys have any opinions to offer?

A frac pilot soliciting resumes is rather odd in itself. There is more than enough info out there to justify avoiding Flight Options. In my opinion, 8 on 7 off is not a good schedule. Things are very contentious there right now due to ongoing negotiations on their first contract.

The search button is your friend.

I keep hearing bad things about flight ops even from their pilots. I used to carry a lot of fractional guys into HPN when I was based there. Had a citation x CA at flight ops tell me, ''if you want to work for a fractional, go to netjets.'' At the same time I really don't know because I think there's always pilots who like to bad mouth their company. I had a netjets citation x crew laugh at me when I told them I wanted to fly for netjets. They told me, ''Go to UPS or FedEx and make some real money.''

There are guys with "big-airplane-itis" everywhere. By and large, most pilots at NJA are quite content and have no plans on leaving. There are those with "the bug" who have left for SkyBus(t), Virgin Amer, FedEx and Southwest. If you asked the NJA pilots prior to Nov 2005, you were likely to get the same answer you described.
