Operational and service excellence is our main objective in everything we do.<br /> <strong><u><br />Position Overview</u></strong><br />As the Flight Operations Specialist (FOS), you will be required to perform essential functions as part of the overall aircraft Operation. On a daily basis, you will monitor and oversee safe conduct of flight operations of the company’s aircraft as well as act as the department’s main point of contact for pilots, maintenance, and ground support to report any irregularities which involve flight operations safety or emergency response measures. In addition, you will analyze and elevate meteorological information to determine potential hazards and safety of flight and coordinate aviation activity with all Operating Units that use aircraft in the course of the utility business. You will coordinate activity in the hangar with the proposed aircraft schedule and possesses the overall responsibility for attention to detail. The ability to work in a fast paced team environment are essential qualities for the success. Immediate response to customer requests is what we strive for. Effective time management skills and the ability to plan and organize an unpredictable workload are also needed. As the FOS, you must be able to work both independently and in a team environment to meet shared goals and objectives.<br /> <br /><strong>Typical Responsibilities:</strong><br /><ul><li>Release Flights, Flight Follow and Aircraft Operations Coordinator/AOC (after hours and weekends, when rotation turn occurs): Acts as an Aircraft Operations Dispatcher in coordination with the Chief Pilot and the Maintenance Manager. </li><li>Management of Aircraft Schedule: Process and schedule flight requests and coordinate with the Helicopter Operations Specialists for external load requests. </li><li>Management of contract aircraft: Assign work to contract aircraft operators, track when their work is scheduled and completed, and help chase down issues for P.O.’s / invoices. </li><li>Reporting: Conduct a monthly audit of the scheduling process. Compute the monthly aircraft utilization.</li></ul>
