Job Summary
Full-time or Part-time flight instructor position based in Houston, Texas area. Position includes flying, instructing, and related administrative duties.
Aviation Experience
Instructor must have relevant instructing experience in high performance and glass cockpit airplanes. Primary responsibilities include providing flight and ground instruction to Cirrus owners in all Cirrus aircraft models (SR20, SR22, SR22T) and advanced avionics training on Garmin Perspective (G1000) & Avidyne avionics systems. Plan and execute flight training missions for initial, transition, and recurrent training using scenario-based training techniques and a detailed factory-approved syllabus.
Interpersonal Skills
Applicants must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills and be capable of catering instructing methods to a variety of customer types and personalities. Strong presentation skills and/or courseware development experience is desired.
Travel Opportunities
Travel opportunities exist throughout the US. Applicant must be flexible to travel while providing top-notch instruction to clients.
Houston-Area
Instructor will be responsible for travel to local Houston-area airports including our offices in Sugar Land, Texas and Conroe, Texas.
Travel Outside of Houston Area
The cost of any travel outside of the Houston area will be paid for by HPA. Instructor will be provided with company credit card for travel expenses.
Qualifications:
High Performance Aviation, LLC provides instruction exclusively to aircraft owners, typically in late-model glass cockpit aircraft. We do not operate as a typical flight school, and we do not offer airplanes for rent. HPA provides a professional atmosphere to grow your aviation career and take your flying to the next level in a variety of aircraft.

Positions are available in Sugar Land, Texas or Conroe, Texas. Instructor may live anywhere in the Houston area within driving distance of Houston area airports.

- FAA Certified Flight Instructor with Instrument - CFI, CFII
- 1st or 2nd class medical
- 800 hours total flight time preferred
- 500 dual given preferred
- Actual instrument experience
- CSIP (Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot) certification or prior Cirrus experience preferred
