Well sort of .... I got in a Chinook Sim the other day. It's been 4.5 yrs. since I pulled any pitch and even though it was a sim it felt goooood. My first approach/landing was to a ship ... not to bad if I do say so myself. It almost (ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE), makes me want to go back to flying em. It was nice for the Army to let me play with thier big video game ...

Cool... where did you do the sim at? What database did they have for you?

It was at Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA ... PA Army National Guard Facility. The database they had was up in Alaska somewhere ... I was just doing it for fun ... my new hire copilot is a CH-47 Maint. Test Pilot and got me in during one of his sim periods. A very impressive platform ... alot more stable than the Hueys and Cobras I used to fly ... a long time ago

Cool... try any NVG slingload hook ups?:)

Or did he turn the AFCS off on ya... much LESS stable than any other helicopter without the magic computer on.

I go down to FIG once in a while... you based somewhere down there?
