Aircraft Dispatch Academy has remote for 6 weeks then 2 weeks in personDoes anyone have experience with Flamingo Air’s partial remote program? What are your thoughts? With Sheffield shutting down, I think this is the only such program left that has an asynchronous distance learning component…
Doesn’t that one require the distance portion to be synchronous though (scheduled live video sessions)?Aircraft Dispatch Academy has remote for 6 weeks then 2 weeks in person
Yah it does. I figured the others did too no?Doesn’t that one require the distance portion to be synchronous though (scheduled live video sessions)?
From what I understand, Flamingo and Sheffield are self paced until the in person session.Yah it does. I figured the others did too no?
Sheffield is no more, unfortunately...owner retired. From what I understand, Flamingo and Sheffield are self paced until the in person session.
This is correct. For Flamingo, when you sign up you pick the date the in person class starts. Until then you are doing modules at your own pace. I went there back in 2022.From what I understand, Flamingo and Sheffield are self paced until the in person session.
Was Danny Mortensen still going? This is correct. For Flamingo, when you sign up you pick the date the in person class starts. Until then you are doing modules at your own pace. I went there back in 2022.
When I attended(2015), it was dependent on any prior aviation experience, if you had experience, then they only required the ADX prior to the in-person portion.Flamingo air also requires you to do a private pilot written on top of the dispatch written. That's why I chose a different route. They are well known in the industry though by hiring managers.
I can confirm this, 200 hrs of online modules, self-paced, before attending the in-person portion. This is correct. For Flamingo, when you sign up you pick the date the in person class starts. Until then you are doing modules at your own pace. I went there back in 2022.
