The incumbent(s) of this position are active participants in the organization and support the changes necessary for the organization&#8217;s survival.<br /><br /></span></div><div>The Fixed Wing Pilot schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off.&nbsp;Preference is given to applicants who have previous EMS experience.&nbsp;Single pilot IFR experience in King Air aircraft preferred.</div><div></div><div><strong>REPORTS TO/SUPERVISES:</strong></div><div>This position reports directly to the Chief Pilot for all routine operations issues. All CareFlite pilots are responsible to the Chief Pilot for compliance with FAA regulatory issues.</div><div>CareFlite Fixed Wing Pilots work collaboratively with other members of the CareFlite staff (mechanics, flight nurses, communications specialists, and flight paramedics) to safely and effectively accomplish the mission of patient transport.</div><div></div><div><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></div><div></div><div><strong>Safety:</strong></div><ul><li>Functions as Pilot In Command during flight and ensures that all CareFlite flight operations activities are in full compliance with FAR Part 135 and other FAA regulations.</li> <li>Ensure that all CareFlite flight operations activities are performed in accordance with CareFlite manuals, directives, policies, and procedures. Directs medical crew members as necessary to ensure safety of aviation operations.</li><li>Ensure that all CareFlite flight operations activities are performed to the highest quality standards.</li><li>Ensures personal compliance with CareFlite safety programs.</li></ul><p><strong>Customer Service:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensures that appropriate documentation, logs and records, are completed and maintained for al flight operations activities.</li><li>Ensures personal compliance with CareFlite safety programs.</li><li>Demonstrates tact and diplomacy when dealing with CareFlite customers and/or when functioning in role as a CareFlite Fixed Wing Pilot.</li></ul><div><strong>Quality Assurance/Improvement:</strong><br /><div>Incumbent(s) will actively participate in quality assurance/improvement activities as directed by their supervisor. Each incumbent will acquaint themselves with the quality assurance surveys and/or quality improvement projects which affect their practice and adhere to the standards or changes implemented. Each incumbent will provide feedback in a positive proactive manner or quality assurance/improvement activities which impact their practice.</div></div><p><strong>Fiscal Responsibility:</strong></p><p>All will include at least the following two items:</p><ul><li>Incumbent(s) will search out opportunities to utilize their free time while on duty to improve their professional skills or participate in work related projects.</li><li>Incumbent(s) will identify efficiency or cost saving ideas in a timely manner to their immediate supervisor. Adheres to the CareFlite Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.</li><li>Monitors own areas of strength and weakness and seeks out opportunities and/or guidance for improvement.&nbsp;Seeks appropriate channels for personal and professional development.</li><li>Demonstrates flexibility and has the ability to respond to changing priorities.</li><li>Demonstrates changes in behavior or attitude following constructive guidance.</li><li>Deals with conflict in an appropriate and effective manner.</li><li>Exhibits a positive attitude in support of CareFlite and CareFlite/hospital management.
