First Solo

This is my Custom Title
Not mine - but my first (100% my instruction) student. :D

I've gotta say, it meant more to me than my own solo. What a great feeling.

Were you a little nervous? I know I was the first time I soloed a student. I knew he was well OVERLY prepared for it, just was a little worried.

Of course I was a little bit:buck:...KTUS is a busy place. But I was certain she'd be fine.

I couldn't believe how emotional it was for me standing beside the runway, listening to the radio. Seriously, a better feeling than my own solo.

It's definitely a parental moment. I'll never forget my first solo, and then my FIRST solo. Religious experience in every sense of the word.

I was so nervous when I had mine! I almost wanted to sit at the end of the runway with the radio yelling "more power!.. pitch down!"

But congrats!!

Congrats! I remember when I first soloed a student. I'm pretty sure I was more nervous than he was. Radio in hand, ready to yell "GO AROUND" if necessary. :nana2:

Congrats. But just wait untill you send your first student into a checkride. Thats when I was most nervous. "Did I teach them everything they need to know? EEEKKKKK!"

I'm already terrified about that. I know the instructor way too well.:D

Ugh, student pilot solos. Without fail it's about two smokes before they taxi back to the runway. Cross countries are the worst. Totally on their own. But it is an awesome sense of accomplishment when they make it back safe. Probably best if the students didn't know how big a deal it is for us.
