First Solo!!

So today at KDWH I did my first solo. I finally turned 16 last Monday and have been trying to get my solo ride in since then. So first I went up with my instructor and did 3 stop and go's. then took him back to the FBO and parked. He got out filled out some paper work and told me to do 3 full stop landings. First landing was good, so was the second one. After my 2nd landing after talking to tower I got the message "53AF im supposed to tell you that your passenger side door is open" after hearing this I :eek:. So I fixed my door problem and went up for my last landing. Everything went well, got out the plane and got a grin that I still cant seem to take off. Now im one step closer to fulfilling my shiny jet syndrome dreams, but hopefully I will be in GA for a good while. But before I go I would like to say thanks to my two main flight instructors Alex and Dareal (hope I spelled that right;)), not sure if you guys will read this but you have both been an inspiration!

Congrats! I still remember mine like it was yesterday. It sticks with you for a while.

Congrats! I almost forgot to close the door for my first solo also. I am so used to my instructor taking care to that side. :)
 
Wow...your post made me smile - I also soloed from KDWH but it was many, many moons ago. Congrats to you!
 
CONGRATS!, KDWH is a cool airport, I fly in there a couple times a week for my company. I enjoy taxing down G. I feel like I'm driving in the woods.
 
I soloed in a DA20, so I didn't have to worry about a passenger door! Congrats on the solo. Feels good to be up there by yourself, doesn't it?

btw... dirty old jets are just as cool as shiny new ones IMHO
