First real cross country.

Cold Ass Honky
Well, after 1500 hours of XC time, i finally get to go on a real one thursday. Leaving new orleans and heading up to New hampshire in the 'ho. Im looking forward to it, should be a good time.

The weirdest thing is, of all the things to be daunted by, the only thing im not looking forward to is dealing with north eastern controllers. I know we have a few on here, so if you hear a navajo with a guy that sounds like hes strait out of the trailer park, take it easy on me. :)

Where are you going in NH? I spent about 5 years up there at boarding school. Gorgeous place, although there are plenty of rednecks, so you might not feel too out of place;)

Gonna be in Portsmouth. Unfortunately, i wont have anytime to sightsee, gonna be air-lining back the next morning.

Have fun! Northeast controllers aren't as bad as some people make them out to be! Just learn to talk fast :D

personally, having flown across a large part of the US part 91, the NE controllers aren't that bad. My biggest problem usually comes around western potomac approach with the speed of speech and thickness of accent. I've said slow down and articullate or I'll just have you say it again, again....

They still work with you though.

Never had a prob with anyone in the NE.

Although if you go IFR anything you file will most likely be rerouted once you get closer to PHL/JFK airspace.

I gave a conference presentation in Portsmouth a few years ago - neat town! There was some submarine on the side of the road you could check out. That was about all I remember - I was there just about as long as you're going to be.
