AirTran Airways is currently accepting resumes and conducting interviews for First Officer Positions.


Minimum Qualifications:

Fixed wing flight time - 2500 hours

Multi-engine, fixed wing flight time - 1000 hours

121 PIC or military equivalent - 500 hours

An ATP certificate, or successful completion of the ATP written exam

Current First Class Medical certificate

Valid passport

Legally eligible for employment in the United States

Free of felony convictions within the most recent 10 years

They have plenty of well-qualified pilots at ATA to choose from. Hopefully if they take the MDW gates they'll take some ATA pilots along in the deal.

I don't think the purchase of the gates will trigger ATA's fragmentation policy in thier contract. If Air Tran were to take some of the airplanes (i.e. 737-800's) then the policy would trigger and hopefully Air Tran's pilots would honor it, even though they are not bound by the ALPA fragmentation policy. I only hope the best for the ATA guys...always been great to me when I've jumpseated....

Anyone know if Air Tran will take someone without the 121 PIC time? I have nearly 3600TT with about 2500 twin turnbine as a 121 & 135 FO?
