First flight ideas

I remember my first lesson with my CFI. He let me taxi around a bit, after I slaughtered that beyond all belief he performed the takeoff and initial climb. Once we were at the practice area he gave me the controls and let me fly around as he showed me all of the land marks to look for and roads to become familiar with the area. Then we did the four fundamentals of flight and he said I was doing great so when we came back in for landing he took control of the throttle and rudders and let me take control of the yoke while his hands were at the ready for anything that went wrong. He was very calm in giving me verbal guidance down to the runway. Obviously I felt him taking control as we came into ground effect, even though he was acting like it was me landing the bird. That got me hooked and I scheduled my next four flights later that night!
