Pardon the ignorance but what is the orange site?
PPW is only $12 per year with much better jobs than any other pay site I've seen. I was on FindAPilot for about a year and never found anything good. If you do choose to join a jobs site please to not take advantage of the "apply" feature on the job add. This feature usually takes all of your information you've entered into the site and compiles it into a generic resume. Nothing annoys me more than seeing 300 resumes that all look the same with zero personalization and typically no cover letter. These applications typically find themselves in the round file as they demonstrate to me a lack of ambition. If the ad does not offer additional contact information for the company then you may not have a choice, but if there is contact info then please personalize something so we know that you really want the job. It's also really annoying to call someone after reading their resume and they respond with "who's this? What company?" When I hear that I know that they had just been going through all the jobs and hitting the apply button, and thus ends the conversation. It's a lot of recycled job postings and PFJ/PFT schemes and scams. As was said, the orange site is probably better. Also, the Jobs Available section here (free!) and ProPilotWorld ($25 a year maybe?) will get you almost as many postings and a lot better networking to go along with it.
I have an account there and am a 500 hr CFI and there are tons of jobs!Maybe kind of a sidetrack, but does anyone think there would be a benefit to someone like me (~300TT CFI) signing up to a site like the orange one, or would it pretty much just be a waste of money at this point? I'm thinking the latter, but I don't know if it's done anything for anyone in a similar situation.

Thanks for assuming I don't know how to make a professional call.I have to disagree with that. You should state who you are at the beginning of any professional call. And, it's unlikely any candidate has applied only for YOUR job alone, so it would be reasonable for them to want to know who they were speaking with.
Eh, I was looking at the orange site, and saw some companies that I am friends with pilots or CPs. So I called them up and asked about the job posting, and with 3 different ads they didn't know what I was talking about. When I directed them to the ad, they said it was from months ago, yet it said posted yesterday. So I figure if I find 3 in a day, the amount of real jobs on that site cannot be many at all.I would suggest subscribing to the orange site over any other aviation job boards. Also, network as much as you can.
Thanks for assuming I don't know how to make a professional call.I have never thought that anyone had applied to our company only, and I wouldn't expect anyone to know who I am (or any other individual from our company). I would however, expect the company name to ring a bell when I introduce myself at the beginning of the phone call.
That's really my only complaint with the "easy apply" button. It becomes too easy to apply to multiple companies in a very short period of time without knowing anything about the company. It's obvious when someone has done their homework.
