Problem File upload issues

Sometimes I try to upload pictures. When selecting the photo for upload, it says something like (Max Size 9.8mb). The picture I just tried to upload was only 2.3mb, but the "server could not process, file to large." It's just a vanilla flavored *.jpg shot with my phone. If it's a screen shot, it works fine.

HALP!

Might be looking at the dimensions as well, I'll have a look on the back end and see what's up.
