Fiance at JetBlue

Hey Guys-
My fiance just got hired for an A/O position in KROC and will be leaving for KMCO for training for 10 days. Anyone know what hotel B6 uses for this? Just trying to give her some more info. Thanks.

Off topic but... I've been trying to get a Job with Jetblue for a while working the ramp. They seem like a cool company to work for.

They have a few hotels in MCO since it's a hub (err, "focus city"). When I was there for AO Initial a few months ago, I was at the Holiday Inn Express. They also use the Crown Plaza and a couple other ones all in that cluster there just north of the airport. All of them have a shuttle that'll get you there in about five minutes or so.

If you're wanting to have them visit, on the first day of training, get onto the corporate intranet, go to Crew Travel, and get the form you'll need to fill out to authorize your fiance as your significant other. Fax it in as soon as you can, since it can take a few days to process. As soon as it's in, you can list yourself (or him/her) on MyIDTravel, although you can't fly until you have your badge, which comes in the second week. I went up to Martha's Vineyard on a day off, so you can fit it in if you really want to... I wante dto take advantage of being on the east coast since I'm in Seattle, and it's difficult to connect anywhere on JetBlue from here.

Any other questions, drop me a PM. JetBlue's a great company to work for; there's a reason that they haven't gone union yet -- we're treated well. I've met some of the ground crew in ROC and they're good people, so you'll enjoy yourself.

JB uses 5-6 different hotels in that area North of MCO.

Flight and inflight as well as some AO/GO stay at Country Inn if available, but like the poster above said Holiday Inn, Hawthorne Suites, and I even stayed at the Marriott once...Shuttle arrives promptly to pick you up, don't miss it... It's an "on time airline" (har)... $38 per diem, you have to spend the money and create a expense report. There's a "boars head" deli at OSC, and a handful of restaurants within walking distance.

It's probably best to fly in to visit her rather than her flying home or somewhere on the weekends, if you don't make it back consider yourself fired.

Instructors and other employees on trips or in training stay at the same hotels, don't get too crazy at the hotel. I was there for some additional training about a year ago and they let go a group of 10 because the hotel caught them throwing chairs in the pool, they won't tell the initial people but they do check up on the group behavior..

Good points. We lost one person who didn't show up after a trip to Tampa, and another who partied too hard and got in trouble with the hotel staff.

You'll have a hard time burning through that $38. I've never eaten so much steak and lobster. The sandwiches at the OSC are pretty good, and they'll do custom stuff if you ask.

Other stuff... get out of town on the weekend. Head west to Tampa if you're a partier, head east to Melbourne if you want a better beach or to see the stuff at Kennedy. Good times. And don't stress about the tests -- if you're paying attention, you'll do fine. They want you to pass.

If you end up with Hernan as an instructor, tell him Mr. 100 says hi.
