Hi guys!
Just a few pics from my adventure/ferry flight from Florida to Brazil. It was a fairly new c172 with 160hp engine, it was a slow flight all the way to Brazil, averaging 85kts GS, fun but long flight! The weather was pretty decent till I got to The airport of entry in Brazil, from that point on all the way to the final destination not so much. It took roughly 50hrs of flying time. Good experience and some really awesome scenery along the way.

Fabio30BR: This is Iron Eagle, he's not being moved, what's the hold-up?
Control tower operator: We are having trouble finding a jeep suitable for your, um, purposes.
Fabio30BR: (nonsense), you've got a whole country full of them!
[pauses]
Fabio30BR: You just lost a refinery!

[after destroying an oil refinery]
Fabio30BR: Looks like they'll be importing oil this year, Chappy.

So awesome. My dream flight right there! Lucky!
Well, I am based in south Florida, it's the departure point to most if not all planes being ferried to South America. So there are always people in need of a FAA Comercial pilot to tag along with them. If the pilot is flying a US registered aircraft, they most have a FAA Comercial pilots license to enter in Brazil with the aircraft, otherwise the plane is detained at the airport of entry, and believe or not, a lot of these guys, come up here with a FAA private pilots license only thinking they can ferry the plane and find out they can't! It's the easiest thing ever to validate a foreign private license in the US, so they use to do that and ferry planes down to South America, however, regulations in Brazil has changed to prevent that from happening, that's when you, a FAA Comercial pilot is needed!
Hang around at your local south Florida airport and I assure you will get a gig ferrying a plane to Brazil! My brother in law got to go twice in a kingair for that same reason! I need time and money, that's the best way I found out to do just that!

As a non-Brazilian or RNE holder you need a type 1 Brazilian business Visa to ferry any airplane into Brazil and act as ferry crew...many locked down planes around Macapa..

There were 5 planes setting at Macapa for 15 days when I last landed there. You are right about the visa, if you are ferrying a non brazilian registered aircraft and you also must have a commercial license in which the aircraft is registered to.

Nice pics! I have ferried 4 airplanes myself to Belo Horizonte, Saõ Paulo, and Manaus! Shoot me a PM, I live 10 minutes from KFXE.
