Fedex is hiring handlers at the Burbank location. This location is at the airport and they do ramp handling for their few flights a day so it could be pretty fun. This is part time but Fedex hires internally so this is rare but you can probably apply for other jobs. As some of you may know if you work a year at express you can interview for any salary job including pilot, as long as you meet mins. Could be good for future employment. Apply online.

I worked for FedEx for 3 years. Sure you can apply, but HR is really concerned about keeping you where you are. Extra training is hard to come by and there is a strong sense of job security.
However, they have punitive measures to ensure hourly employees stay where they are. Sounds fair, but I've seen a lot of people get docked pay for others mistakes. There's a large blame game, and not so much support in getting the job done right. Things could really be better.
I wouldn't say that being a handler will get you the pilot slot as much as being a great pilot. Oh... and military helps a lot.
