I know this isn't a strong topic but it would be nice if we could get some activity in this forum. What's your favorite cargo aircraft?

MD-11

DC-3/C-47/R4D /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

God bless the Gooney Bird!!!!

60-70 years old and still working hard. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

BTW it is a Douglas DC-3 not a boeing DC-3!

I was actually thinking about more modern ups/fed ex cargo style aircraft. But since you guys mentioned it my favortie cargo is probably the C-130. Either that or the C-17III.

747 - all models (especially w/ the Fedex logo on the tail!! ) Although the one I flew on was all white - the 'white ghost'!

I wanna fly one of these, even if it's only one time.

Why doesn't JC restore a DC-3? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spin2.gif

My favorite old freight aircraft would be the Convair 640 that I used to fly....now at a museum in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Now...I'd have to say the Rolls Royce powered B757.

B-52, for when your package absolutely, positively must blow the holy crap out of someone TODAY. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But seriously, folks, the DC-3. I intend to fly one at least one before I die.

Or this ugly mother.

I would have to say the MD-11. It is a very impressive aircraft. I used to work at Fed Ex loading thousands of pounds of frieght on it and watching it pitch between 20-25 degrees on climb out( I asked the pilots) is a sight to see.

Ha, lucky man! I always wanted to jumpseat on one, but guess not anymore. Did get on the L1011 though, which was a blast for sure.

I'm a little upset that by the time I'll be eligible to even get hired by any of the cargo companies still operating some of these amazing dinosaurs (747 classic, DC-10, 727) they'll be long banished to the graveyard. Into the world of glass-cockpits I go...

Mine would have to be the Cessna 210 or the Piper Lance.
