Some sources are saying it was a Queen Air, and some are saying it was a Duchess. There is a Queen Air based in SQL, and BelAir has a fleet of Duchesses. From the picture, I'm very sure it was the Queen Air. Either way, very sad. This is the first fatal crash I can remember that actually occurred at the airport:(.

EDIT: Yes, it is a Queen Air.

Saw it with my own eyes. I looked out of the window (I got a good view of aircraft departing 30 at SQL from my office) and saw him turning (right) downwind with something like 60 degree bank. The next second it was in a right spin, nose down 50 degrees, made couple of turned and disappeared from my sight... Its a miracle they did not hit any home around the airport, its very populated are around...

You better not be making this up for a first post..

3 people confirmed dead so far. RIP.

I hate when a crash happens local, then I get a bunch of calls to see if it was me, errie.
