"fast"

In the spirit of NJACapt's endless mockery (and we mostly deserve it) of RJs who move slowly, we too can go fast. The sad thing was, with the winds aloft (about 185 on the nose) we were only doing 305 across the ground.

Maybe Bombardier needs to install one of these:

Why were you above 33,600 if the winds were that strong? Were they that strong in the high 20s as well? Or did you turn 1/2 bank on manually?

Oh heck, you can go at least that fast in a mad dog, but it wizzes fuel out the tailpipe though!

We were at 340 if I remember correctly. The winds were just about as strong all the way down to the low 20s. The magic computer at dispatch said we would burn more gas down low and get there about the same time. That said, they probably assumed we would be got .74 at both altitudes :)

We had a pretty good tailwind going to down to PIT so we were truckin' along in the Slaab doing 330ish. It was pretty schweet. Then we continued the climb up while changing to our on-course heading which put us at about 220 over the ground which wasn't so schweet. But then I saw we were going to get in before our block so I went ahead and pulled the power back while munching on a breakfast bar. ;)

GaTech, if you start overblocking, give me a call to let me know how you did it.

You're supposed to overblock on every day except the last one. If you underblock consistently they'll reduce the credit time for the legs and then you'll be out more $$ :).

In the -200 1/2 bank comes on at 31,600, not 33,600. Could be different for the -700.

I think he was questioning why we were up that high, not why halfbank was on above 31.6. I flew a airframe the other day where halfbank was stuck on. There isn't an MEL for it and they didn't MEL the autopilot. Weird.

Yeah, but I was pointing out that half bank doesn't come on at 33,600, it comes on at 31,600. Meaningless info I suppose, however. I'll shut up now :).

P.S. You can't touch my .33M in the baron!

Being stuck in BNA means I rarely fly the -700, we we routinely get that (and the -900) up to .845 without any difficulty. Those are cruisers.

Summer is hard to get the -200 going, but you have to love the cold of winter. Play with your VNAV, though, and the thrill of doing .82 or .83 goes away when you realize you're only arriving 1-3 minutes earlier.

Those can be big minutes, however, if you need to "go for a walk" while on short final.

I hope you know it's all good natured fun.

.80 = Fast ??????????? LOLOLOLOLOL

Pax showed up :05 late this week for a .5 hr flight. Unfortunately a USAir RJ took off before us. A :30 flight became 1:00. 230-250 Kts in the FL20s????? Come on guys have a heart, put both oars in the water. We need to paint big yellow triangles (Drivers Ed) on the top of your cabin.

Yea. The thrill of going .91 goes away when you realize you are going to arrive :30 late (behind anything with a logo on the tail).
Note: I didn't say an RJ :D

If you get paid by the hour, why ya complaining? ;)

We did a CRW-ALB ferry flight the other day in the beech. We were doing 387 over the ground! We even called center to see what their read out was :D

Reminds me of the time I followed this NJA Slowtation into BNA. We were still 45 minutes out when center told us to slow. Holy carp did that suck! We arrived 10 minutes late. Freaking corporate pilots!

230-250 above 10,000 is criminal. Sounds like someone needs to be retrained.
