I am having trouble understanding the equipment requirements for flight over open water (beyond power off gliding distance) in a light aircraft under 5,000lbs. Simply what is required to be onboard?
see 91.205 (b) (12)... for hire...beyond power off gliding distance-
-approved flotation gear (life vests etc.) for each occupant
-1 pyrotechnic signalling device
one question, where does the 5,000 lb. limitation come from?
