Fallen Soldier returns home on AA

I organize these in New Orleans about twice a month. Ours are similar, except we have one police car, an operations vehicle, color guard and the family. :(

I've never seen anything like this...

thank you very much for posting this.

to all who are serving currently, and to all of those who have served. I thank you and owe you more than I can express.

God Bless the USA

That's insane! I've seen photos of some impressive salutes, etc. when fallen soldiers arrive at an airport.

One of the more interesting ones was about 2 years ago, when an America West pilot died while snorkeling on a LIH overnight. When the aircraft he was carried home on turned into the alley in PHX, it was washed down and the edges of the taxi way were lined with employees. The entire hub had practically shut down.

I've watched this video several times in the past week since I've found it. It just reminds me of what the soliders and their familes have given up to protect our freedom.

Mods: Can you embed the video? I'm not sure how.

1. Take the link from youtube.com. For this video it was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZafRos5gKs

2. When you go to make a post click the youtube feature button on the top of the toolbar.

3. Go back to the link off of youtube and copy and paste everything in the link after the = sign.

Basically just take the "4ZafRos5gKs" and put it between the youtube brackets.

Does that help you?

This is what I like to see. RESPECT. Before I was furloughed, every chance I had, I thank Military service-men and women for their service in Atlanta. Even though I am a Veteran, I still show my gratitude towards those who didn't have to, but did because they had to.

A woman whose blog I recently started following calls herself "A Soldier's Girl."

Her husband was due back within the next two months, and a couple of weeks ago I visited her blog and all of her posts were removed.

I'm hoping it's not why I think it is.

On a military forum I used to visit, a woman whose fiance died in Iraq posted for a while starting about a week after he was killed.

It's unimaginably REAL. And so very, very, very sad.

Not to turn this thread political, because I completely agree that all our fallen soldiers deserve this kind of return home, but it's seeing things like this that make me think "all of this for what??" Perhaps, our politicians would be less apt to send our brave young men and women into harms way without foresight of what could be the ramifications of their actions. These soldier's aren't chess pieces in some perverse political game, they are people with families, friends and people who care for them. Sorry, a really good friend of mine who went to HS with me was killed in Iraq several months back, and it just makes you wonder...what the he** for...

Everyone from the private on up to the President knows and understands the ramifications. But the leaders have to show resolve and can not let those ramifications interfere with or undermine their leadership and issuance or carrying out of those orders.
