Its an optional extra I believe. Skippers aviation here in Perth don't have autopilots and they run a fleet of about 8 Metros I think.
In our B1900's, we don't have autopilots either... Thats why we have F/O's!!!

The ones my former company flew had autopilot option-installed. We needed them for IFR ops in order to fly autopilot in-lieu-of SIC.
 
Ohh ok, its one of those catch 22's like Air Con with cars!!! hehe

Do you know if Air North has them?
