During the PPL & ACPP checkrides what is an acceptable form of payment to the FAA examiner???

For those who took the PPL: Is there any time during the PPL to study and take any of the ACPP writtens since the PPL wriiten is already out of the way??? My plan is to study full time in April on most if not all of the ACPP writtens and possibly take a few of the written exams at JAX while doing my PPL in May-June. I will have a month (July) off to wrap up any other writtens I did not take at JAX before I start the ACPP program in PHX(AUG-OCT). Let me know if this is do-able?

For those who did the PPL/ACPP in the summer months: Does ATP allow students to wear shorts during the warmer months???

All the examiners I know only take cash.

As far as taking the writtens go, I would recommend during PPL, not to study for the other writtens. I say wait until you pass your ppl checkride. Use the time between then and when you start the ACP portion to take the writtens.

1. The majority of the examiners will only accept cash. I always carried the next checkride's cash in my wallet.

2. When you are in the second month of the PPL flying XCs you may have some time for writtens. The schedule you listed will have ample time for writtens.

3. Yes, we can wear shorts! The only event that requires pants is the Citation jet training, which requires pants and a collared shirt (i.e., business casual)

Thanks for the info...

I just thought it would be convenient to get some ACP writtens out of the way and take them at ATP in JAX while I am doing my PPL. (Trying to make the ACP program less hectic as possible...)

Understandable about the dress code while in Citation training...

If you go up with the FAA, you don't have to pay anything.

Most checkrides are with "Designated Examiners" (DE's).
Occasionally, you'll get an FAA Examiner instead of a Designated Examiner for checkrides (mostly on initial CFI rides).

So if you go to ATP you should plan on having cash for your checkrides? Can you just take out loan for a larger amount to include these fees? If so will ATP give you cash out of your account for the checkrides?

Not sure about taking the cash out of your student loan. That would most likely be up to the lender, regarding disbursments ..But yes they stated approx. $2,400.00 needed for checkrides, which is not included in the $34,995.00

You can pull a loan more than the cost of the school. For the ACP, the cost is 34995, and i think you can pull a loan up to 45k to cover living expenses and examiner fees.
