FA in cockpits...

Are FA's allowed to enter the cockpit during flight in these heightened security days? If so are there certain conditions ect.

Also, in the regionals and majors, do FA's layover in the same hotel as the pilots, or are they seperated? Im guessing the crew stays at posh hotels in city centres...

Cheers

Actually it's a requirement. Per my company's SOP the F/A must stay in the cockpit with the door locked if one of the pilots leaves to tend to physiological needs (walk of shame) in flight. Reason being, if the other pilot becomes incapacitated there is someone hopefully able to let the other pilot back in.

At the "Posh" hotels we get put up in, My self the Captain and F/A are all neighbors. The van driver will usually hand out three room cards. i.e 301, 302, & 303, then it's... see ya for dinner/breakfast, slam, click.

With all due respect for security and the 'insecurity' of an internet website, flight attendants are still allowed in the cockpit. Any details beyond that will be deleted!

It depends on the layover. Sometimes the FA's are on short layovers and stay closer to the airport while the pilots are on longer layovers and stay out at a 'long layover' hotel and vice versa.

Posh hotels are pretty much a thing of the past!

The one that UAL uses for their flight attendants in DC is pretty sweet! Of course, they only use it for half the month, and then they go to a dumpy one!

Don't ask me why.

Just last summer (my wedding night actually) I was staying at the Westin in Denver and saw an airline crew checking in. The Westin is pretty "posh" by my standards.

Yeah i agree, the hotels may not be as posh as they use to be in the past yrs. However, ive stayed at a 5star hotel in Sydney Harbour overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and a few Airline crews were staying there. I tell you, it doesnt get much better then that...hotel wise anyway...

Cheers
